Purchase this aerator for my 3 acre farm pond after constant 85+ heat and age starting to build up! Ran the aerator off of my farm generator for 12 hours a day for a week and it really cleaned up the water/alge. Also. added blue dye to stop algae growth. My bass. bream, crappie and other fish love all of the extra oxygen. Also purchased the pump cage as I have a lot of turtles and didn't want one of those suckers to crawl into the pump and break the blades!. I purchased a 75 foot cord but wish I had gotten 100 feet. Get a longer cord if you can as it will give you extra flexibility to move the aerator around.

my last one lasted maybe 6-7 years. keeps pond clean, and beautiful. fish thrive with no problems, even with the heat during the summer here in Florida. I would recommend this unit.

Have two of these running in a small lake on the ranch, one has been running 24/7 for three years without a hitch. If you anchor the power cord at the power source you can use only one other anchor on opposite side and it works fine. Using the right size anchor will hold it in place and still allow you to pull it in if you want to clean it. Best to leave it run continuously as if on a timer turtles etc. will sit on the float to sun themselves when it is off and occasionally enter the center by the propeller. When the unit comes on it will break the propeller and likely the turtle as well. UPDATE: Now 5 years on the original and sitll going 24/7

We've had this in our pond now for about a month and we just love it. It looks cool and is aerating the pond really well.
