Clean Your Air Compressor Filter

Clean Your Air Compressor Filter

Keeping your air filter clean on your compressor will help prolong its life and make sure the compressor is pumping air to its full capacity. A clogged air filter can cause the compressor to have to work harder (run hotter) and could shorten the time before it needs to be rebuilt. Air filters should be checked once a month and if they are dirty they usually can be tapped out or cleaned with some compressed air. If the filter is really dirty (see picture) it should be replaced. Kasco’s air filter assemblies have a metal intake tube in them. Be sure to also check that tube as critters have been known to stash corn and other items in there.
